Our Story

Keepglobe started, like most good things, with a phone call to mum.

I'm in my thirties now, working in tech, and living a long flight away from the family I grew up with. On this particular evening, mum and I were doing what we always do, drifting through old holiday photos together over the phone. The caravan in Cornwall. The sunburn in Spain. The disposable-camera ones where everyone's eyes are closed.

Then her voice changed a little. She told me, gently, that she'd been feeling lonely. Our family is older now, scattered across different parts of the world, and the house she used to fill with noise had gone quiet. I think a lot of us recognise that feeling, even if we never quite say it out loud.

The lightbulb moment

We said our goodnights, I put the phone down, and the idea arrived almost immediately. What if mum had a place, her place, to put all those holiday memories? Not buried in a phone, not lost in a feed, but laid out on a globe that the whole family could open from anywhere in the world. Something she could build herself, pin by pin, and say "look where we went."

I couldn't stop thinking about it, so over the next few evenings I started building it.

From one mum to many

The first version of Keepglobe was made for her. I shipped it over, walked her through it on another call, and within minutes she was dropping pins on places I'd half-forgotten we'd ever been. She loved it. Then she told a friend. Then that friend told someone else. And quietly, in a way I didn't expect, Keepglobe started belonging to other families too.

What we believe

Your family's story deserves more than a camera roll. Holidays, road trips, first homes, the tiny ordinary moments, they're the things future generations will want to hold on to. Keepglobe is built so anyone, at any age, with any level of tech confidence, can gather them in one beautiful place and share them with the people who matter.
